2010 NMRA Lone Star Shootout – Races and Car Show

The National Mustang Racing Association (NMRA) is holding its 2nd annual Lone Star Shootout in Houston the weekend of November 13-14, 2010.  It will be held at the Houston Raceway Park, between Beaumont and Houston, just off I-10.   There is a summary of the awards given at the 1st car show last November, 2009.  There are really two different car shows on Saturday and on Sunday.  The Saturday show is judged by the spectators and participants (sort of people’s choice).  The Sunday show is judged by NMRA judges.  All class winners receive a plaque.  Best of Show receives a 6ft. tall trophy.  Entry is $20 for Saturday show, which includes admission to the drag races and direct access to the pits and drivers.  Sunday entry is $35, with the same privileges.  All weekend is $55 for the show, $20/day for spectators. This is a big event, at a very nice facility, attracting about 15,000/day.  300 cars last year.  Track/show is open 9am-5pm only Sat & Sun – no night events, except Friday (noon ’til midnight).

Software Upgrade

Mustangers, you may notice that the website has a slightly different look to it.  That’s because the software used to build the site has been upgraded to a newer version.  This was necessary to fix the file uploading problem that has been going on for the last few months.

There are still some bugs to be worked out and I am working with Jaken to identify and fix them.  In the mean time, when you see something that does not appear to be working, please shoot an email to jfreyder@eatel.net so that I can log it with Jaken.

A few of things I noticed already is the “Search” box is not labeled, the older blogs are there but there is no way to navigate to them, and the events calendar has lost the highlights on the days containing an event.  Jaken & I appreciate your patience during this process.
